Roberto Hurtado

“Embrace the discomfort, that’s how the real goals are achieved.”

Meet Roberto, a true Panamanian at heart, born and raised in the vibrant streets of Panama City. He is an engineer, but by passion, he wears many hats: Professor of Entrepreneurship and Innovation, President of Fundacion CREEA, entrepreneur, and the founder of LiveWalkPTY.

“LiveWalkPTY is not just an app, it is a Panamanian journey through time.”

LiveWalkPty is a revolutionary mobile app that offers a unique blend of handcrafted self-guided audio walks that express Panama’s rich history engagingly and educationally. With over 28,000 downloads from people belonging to 135 countries.

“My wife, Elizabeth Eisenman, is the spark that made me create this platform.”

Roberto was inspired by Elizabeth’s gift and knowledge of her hometown, New York. Her tour guides of the city sparked a discomfort in him. A desire to narrate Panama’s story in a fresh, unconventional way.

In 2013, alongside Elizabeth, he created LiveWalkPTY. Roberto is the driving force and Elizabeth is the creative genius. The start-up achieved several awards and recognitions locally and internationally. In 2019, Forbes Magazine labeled LiveWalkPTY as one of the 30 most promising businesses in Latin America.

Their apartment in Panama City was featured in Architectural Digest by Sarah Lyon on July 26, 2023.

Their success prompted them to embark on a new adventure: The Panama History Festival. The first-ever festival of its kind in Panama City. The inaugural edition held from September 29 to October 1, 2023.

This four-day extravaganza with more than 3,000 attendees, featured music performance, immersive historical exhibits, and a culinary experience. A celebration of Panama’s history intertwined with its rich cultural diversity.
